Ball sports are perfect athletic sports that are worth getting into. You have a number of sports like this available for you. A nice example of what you can get into is Oakville volleyball. This is a particular ball game which will require the player to prevent the ball from touching the ground on your part of the court and attack the opponent's.

When you plan to participate in the said sport, then the first thing you have to do is know the rules and positions for it. There are various positions that must be filled to have a decent team, after all. These positions help with making the team stronger. Here are the basic positions everyone should know about then.

Outside hitter. You need an outside hitter to do the attacks for the team. The position requires the players to hit from their own strong corner. For the ones who are right-handed, then they have stronger corners at the court's front left. When they are left-handed players, then their corner is at their front right.

Middle blocker. This is a position for defense. When the opponents are attacking, especially with spikes, the team needs the middle blocker to block these hits. To make the said blocks more effective, it is a common practice to have the middle blockers be the ones who are the tallest in the team.

Another important position in this particular team sports is the setter. The responsibility of the setter is to set the ball into the air so that attacking players can hit the ball to the other side of the net advantageously. The setter, aside from attacking, assist the spikers in their attacks to gain points for the team.

Spiker is another role that must be filled when it comes to the said sports. Remember that the spiker is the one who will be attacking. In their attack, they have to hit the ball hard so that it breaks through the opponent's blocks and hit the court on the other side of the net. The harder the spiker hits, the better it will be.

Libero is a position that is mostly filled by short players, although it does not necessarily mean that only short players can play as libero. The libero position is filled by those players who are good at receives. They have the responsibility of connecting one attack to another, preventing the ball from hitting their home court.

Pinch server is also a position that is necessary to make the team stronger. For a pinch server, he or she will be put on the court in exchange for the player currently in charge for the serve. His or her job is to try and turn the tides around with a service ace. A pinch server is the person who is strong at serves.
