Ancient man has always found ways to improve their weapons whether through innovation or need. Evidently man has created better weapons to aid them in their survival. However a weapon can either be used for good or bad reason, but no one can remove the fact that a gun for whatever purpose used.

Scopes are used to give the shooter a better and clearer view of their target whether done in daylight or night time. Part of hunting is stalking the prey in an efficient and swift matter, so that the prey will not get away. A mounting system is whole in itself and is made up of covers, rails, ring, and a base. However this system is highly dependent on the type of weapon you own. Rails are used as a platform against the base and ring. This is where it is placed, it has ridges perpendicular to the parallel rails. Not only do they provide clearance from the screw locks, but are also used as a buffer for other accessories too.

The mount is composed of the base which is found at the bottom portion of the mount. It is pressed against the rifle then follows the ring which is made up of clamps that tightly screws around the rails and base. It holds everything in place while the rail serve as a shelf for the scope to rest on.

Furthermore it is crucial to get an experienced installer to get these to work and fit snugly into your weapon. Aside that it is important to have a cover this will keep the scope from getting worn out easily from the elements such as rain, heat, wind, and debris. The dovetail is the oldest and patented by John Redfield in 1931. The universal is a variation of dovetail but provides better flexibility however less durable. The weave is widely used because of its ability to be accurate even when detached or reattached. And the picatinny which came out in 1913. While the clamp is easier to use because is just clamped on.
