In any casino, craps stand out as one of the best bets. In fact, if you are new comer in casinos, you are better off starting with understanding this bet. The house edge (casino profit) is only 1.41%. This is three times better than roulette and far much better the slot machines. However, in order to enjoy the game, you have to learn how to play craps, make the best bets, and avoid the sucker bets.

Craps is one of the liveliest games in the casino. The players are constantly yelling and screaming at a win or a loss. However, a unique aspect of the game is that as a player, you have a chance to determine your own fate. Unlike other games where it is the responsibility of another person to spin the little marble or deal the cards, as a player, you have a chance to roll the dice.

When rolling the dice, you become the shooter. Everyone else, including the shooter bets on the same roll of dice. As a shooter, you will keep rolling up to the point when you sevens out. This means rolling a seven at a wrong time and you have to hand over the roll to the next player. Even with this, it is not compulsory that you roll when your time comes, you can just pass off to the next player if you wish so.

This is a game of totals and not numbers. As such, rolling 3 does not mean getting a 3 on the dice, both rather a total of three on both of the dice. For first-time players, this must be very clear to avoid getting confused when playing.

With the chips, the next step is to shoot the dice. This is where every player takes turn to roll the dice while each of them bets on a given roll. This means that there are equal chances of winning or losing the bets whether rolling or not. This also means that rolling the dice is not compulsory; you can opt to pass it to the next person when your turn comes. However, when rolling, you have to continue rolling up to the point when you roll a losing 7.

However, you can still opt not to roll it if you don't feel like. You can just pass the responsibility to the next player when your time comes. However, if you choose to roll, you have to roll until you roll a losing 7.

The other basic thing to learn is that not the numbers but rather the totals that matter. As such, a total of both dice is considered. By rolling a 3, for example, it is a total of three on both dice and not a 3 on any of the dice. This can be confusing to first-time players.

As already mentioned, the Pass Line bet is all you need to know to be able to play. It is very basic. If you bet $5, you win $5 or lose $5. In order to make this bet, wait for the Come-Out Roll. This is when the puck goes to OFF. Once this is done, put the chips you are betting on the area marked Pass Line. The result of the total roll is as follows. A 7 or 11 mean a win while a 2, 3, or 12 mean a loss. However, any other numbers like 4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 means that you have to go to the bonus round.
