Evolution of technology has been of significance to more efficient vigilance systems. It has been considered risky over a long period of time to carry out surveillance in the deep waters. However, it is becoming very possible and easy to collect information from these places through the use of unmanned surface vessel which have been developed to help overcome this challenge.

These boats have been constructed in different models which make the suitable to be used the harsh environment full of tides. They are made with materials that male the buoyant in water and have a streamlined shape that makes them sail for long distances using less energy. They have also been made using a lower upper part to reduce their weight and use tidal and solar energies for propulsion.

Complex technology is employed in making these boats. Automatic remote control systems have been developed which have enabled their operation with no human on board which has also enabled easy operation. They are equipped with systems that enable capturing of the wanted data very easily. Location sensing devices are fixed as well so they can be used to send signals from the boat thus making it easy to locate it while in the ocean.

Control centers have been established. This is where all operations concerning their working are managed. A team of high skilled technicians and engineers are involved in writing different programs and operating systems and their commands. It is also from this unit that the boats are run from and all the information collected is sent here for analysis and recording for storage.

There has been intensive use of these vessels in military operations in many countries. It has become important to safeguard the international water bodies boundaries and territories. However the great risks present on the seas has made these operations challenging and difficult to send officers up on the waters. These boats have helped alleviate this challenge since they can be used to patrol thus promoting security.

Fleet companies have also benefited greatly from the use of this technology. Boats are sent into the sea to survey the weather and the tides crossing the path the ship is likely to use. The findings are then sent to the cabin crew who are able to know which routes are safer to follow. This has helped in reduction in the number of sea accidents.

This technology has also been used by subversive groups of people who are able to leak into the security organizations and manning of entry points to a country. This has facilitated unauthorized entry and settlements in to the target countries. This has caused a number of terror activities in the country making the citizens live in fear.

Despite their great impact they are constantly been faced with many challenges during their operations. Some end up breaking down on the waters before they can retrieve the data required. There is poor signal recipient in the oceans which makes the vessels get lost. Others get destroyed by the strong waves which hit their walls making them to collapse and capsize.
