How Important Are The CPR Certification Courses

By Leslie Ball

When cardiac arrest occurs, it causes the body to lack oxygen and nutrients in tissues resulting to death of a patient. Only about 8 percent of patients experiencing sudden pulmonary arrest outside health facilities will survive. Meaning close to 92 percent will lose their lives. But some lives can be saved if a resuscitation is conducted soon a person is attacked. Undertaking CPR certification courses not only helps one to save lives but also stand a better chance of getting employment.

You may not see the importance of training if you have not encountered such a situation needing resuscitation but when it will happen, that is when you will know how important it is to possess the skill. It does not hurt also to train and not offer the procedure in your lifetime. The worst thing that can happen is finding yourself in that situation that needs one to be resuscitated but you lack the skill.

Inability to perform resuscitation may happen if one has not trained, took the training sometime ago but the skill has lapsed, or they fear conducting the resuscitation because they did not get the right training. When you undertake resuscitation training, make sure you are doing it out of passion and you should be confident of yourself.

By training with reputable institutions, you can get the right skill, which allows you to be confident of yourself in the event you find the skill needed for resuscitation. This is the only way that skill can be beneficial. People who have trained in CPR may find jobs easier than those not trained.

Resuscitation may be done through chest compressions where about 100 to 120 compressions are done in a minute. It may also be done through rescue breathes where a mouth-to-mouth breathing is performed to the patients. Today, taking a CPR course may prove very important not only to other people but also to you.

Statistics indicate that the life you are likely to save when you perform CPR is probably for a loved one. About 4 out of 5 pulmonary arrests happen at home. If there is no one who can be able to offer this procedure, it becomes a difficult situation.

Incidents of cardiac arrests are some of the worst to occur. They can strike anytime anywhere and if there is no one who has the skill of resuscitation, it would result to death of a patient. In most cases, only about 8 percent of individuals who suffer pulmonary arrests are likely to survive before they arrive in healthcare facilities.

It can occur at home, in your workplace, in a shopping center, or even when you are travelling in public means. You would better be a hero by giving another person a chance to survive than painfully watch an individual attacked by cardiac arrest lose his or her life. You need to make the right decision by taking this course through online CPR programs or physical classes.
