Ever since sports started to become a global event, its popularity across different ages has also grown. There is no wonder then why we are treated to annual big event centering on different types of sports. More than that of giving us entertainment, this avenue has also allowed us to see and foster in ourselves important values needed for game. Teamwork and perseverance for instance are among the most popular ones.

There are many sports celebrated around the world. Some of them are lauded internationally, while others remain national. Maryland triathlons is among the events that are most awaited by a lot of sports enthusiasts who want to test the limits of their stamina in this physically strenuous activity.

The event involves three different sport. Biking, swimming and running. All of these things are done continuously. Since it is a non stop activity, having enough stamina is very important if the goal is to bring home the bacon. If you want to join one and are now devising a strategy to maximize your training, then be sure you do not do any of the following.

Irregular training. Whether you are eyeing for the win or not, if you join a triathlon, you need to have regular training. There is no shortcut to building up your stamina. You need to work for it everyday. Otherwise, your body will get used to being relaxed and may not be able to withstand the pressure that you will experience on the actual event.

Buying the wrong gears. There are many available running, swimming and biking gears in the market. But not all of them are fit for what you need. Aside from the size and the design, you also need to consider the comfort and the durability of the material.

No concrete strategy of monitoring progress. Its good to improve the training plan. But the effort of the participant should not end there. He needs to think about how he can record the details of his daily training. Monitoring is very important to know your level of progress, and if you are indeed really improving.

Eating unhealthy foods. The thing is, those foods which we crave are mostly unhealthy. They are packed with sugar, cholesterol and carbohydrates which can ruin the right diet that we need to observe prior to competition. This is a struggle even for athletes considering the number of instant and convenient foods produced at present. Think about your goal and make it a motivation to stay away from those unhealthy choices.

Underestimating the nature of triathlon. You have heard this earlier, but let us try to think about it once again. Triathlon is no ordinary sport. Its a combination of three and lasts longer. Treating it like an ordinary one and thinking that you have someone whom you can rely on such as that of team sports will only put you in a disadvantage.

Whether you win or not is an issue of how well you prepared and how good your competitors are. Thinking about winning is good. But do not forget that you need to do something before you can have it. Other participants are also doing what they can. There is no reason why you should not.
