Some of the highlights include the important French Quarter, bustling Scotch Street and naturally the savoury standard cuisine. Due to a mixing pot of cultures the city boasts one or two entrancing museums to help visitors better understand the local history, art and heritage. Here are merely a few of the top museums in New Orleans

Louisiana Children's Museum

While much of New Orleans appeals essentially to adults there is still plenty to enlighten and entertain young kids too. The Louisiana Children's Museum is probably one of the best New Orleans museums for families and it handily located in the Central Business District merely a short walk from the French Quarter. Exhibits range from subjects like the body and basic machinery to local subjects like the history of New Orleans or understanding how a port operates in coastal cities.
